Mystery Tackle Box Pro [Jan 2019]

Jan Pro Walleye Box

It’s a little late, but today I unboxed the MTB Pro Walleye box for January. I was hoping for some good ice fishing lures from this Jan pro box. There is no open water anywhere near me, and all my fishing right now is through the ice. Mystery Tackle Box did not disappoint with this box, and had some very appropriate baits.

Unboxing the Jan Pro Walleye box

Opening up this box I could tell right away it would be decent. The first item out of the box was some much needed fishing line. This is the first subscription box that I’ve gotten with line in it, and it was welcome. Moving into the lures, I started with a spinner from Northland Tackle. While I have a lot of spinners, this one is fairly unique, with a micro blade and a glow coated hook.

From there we looked at some nicely colored soft plastics from Z-Man and Phenix. A tri-pack rounded out the spinner collection, providing a variety of colors to try once open water hits. Lastly we got into the really good stuff. The Wave Striker from K&E Stopper Lures is a blade bait with a very interesting profile. Interesting angles and a great splash of green color make me excited to try that out through the ice. That wasn’t the only ice fishing lure though, as I ended up with a Lucky John jigging minnow style of bait. The Lucky John had some great color and a good weight, sure to attract some big walleye deep under the ice.
